Types of Management Skills

¢  CONCEPTUAL SKILLS: Conceptual Skills is the ability to see the organization as a whole, to recognize inter relationships among different functions of the business and external forces and to guide effectively the organizational efforts.

¢  HUMAN SKILLS: Human Skills are the abilities needed to resolve conflicts, motivate, lead and communicate effectively with others.

¢  TECHNICAL SKILLS: Technical Skills refer to specialized knowledge and proficiency in handling methods, processes and techniques of specific job.

¢  TOP MANAGEMENT SKILLS: Top Management Skills are relating to balancing, integrating, setting priorities, setting and developing standards, conceptualizing, leading, matching oneself with one’s job and delegating.

¢  MIDDLE MANAGEMENT SKILLS: Middle Management skills are concerned with a particular functional area of the organization. They require skills such as relations skill, leadership skill, motivating skill and the integrative skill.

¢  SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT SKILLS: Supervisory Management Skills are concerned with operatives where the actual operations of the organization take place. It requires technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, accuracy in work, motivation skills and communication skills.
